Carved in the heart of Elgin:
Elgin Feature Sculpture
High Street, Elgin, Moray
Artist Mary Bourne was commissioned by The Moray Council to design a feature sculpture for the centre of Elgin, depicting the history and traditions of Moray. We carved and installed the single hexagonal stone sculpture on Elgin High Street, including 136 hand-cut letters.

The challenge
The sculpture called for precise letter cutting and installation within the existing cobbled High Street.
Our solution
Our masons carved the sculpture and its 136 letters, lifted the existing cobbles and installed the piece in the High Street.
“It was a great pleasure to work with someone who is not only efficient and skilled, but also understands the importance of putting in that extra effort which means getting something absolutely right. The mark of a true craftsman, I couldn’t have asked for more.”
